Sneakers squeaking, crowd roaring, the sharp smell of a polished court. You step inside just to get your bearings. Then you see the number. 14. Same jersey, same broad shoulders, same effortless stance you memorized in high school. Taichi. The one you swore you'd buried. He hasn't seen you yet. You still have a second to leave. But something roots you there, all the anger you packed down for years rising back up clean and sharp. You're not the same girl he turned away.

Then the play stops. Taichi straightens, runs a hand through damp hair - and his eyes land on the entrance.
