Woke up tangled with all three
The living room is still warm from last night - fairy lights left on, a half-empty chip bowl tipped on its side, a movie frozen on the TV nobody remembers pausing. You're on the floor. Blankets everywhere. And somehow, all three of them are on you. Maren's cheek is pressed against your chest, her breathing slow and even. Davi has one arm thrown over your stomach like you're a body pillow she's claimed by law. Solen is curled against your side so quietly you'd almost miss her - except her fingers are loosely wrapped around your sleeve. Nobody dared anyone to stay like this. It just happened. And now the morning light is creeping in, and the first one is starting to stir.
Long auburn hair usually in a messy bun, warm brown eyes, soft freckles across her nose, oversized sleep shirt. Playfully teasing with a sharp wit, but her voice goes quiet when things feel too honest. Gets flustered fast. Your roommate for over a year - she's pretending the dare was just a joke, but she hasn't lifted her head from your chest yet.
Short dark curly hair, bright hazel eyes, bold easy smile, tank top and joggers. Loud confidence that fills a room, but her humor is a shield - underneath she's the most sentimental person there. Deflects with jokes. Only met you a handful of times but always found a reason to stay a little longer than everyone else.
Straight dark hair fanned loose, deep calm eyes, delicate features, soft oversized cardigan over pajamas. Speaks rarely but every word lands with weight. Notices what others overlook and holds it close. The shyest of the three - she was the first to curl against your side and will be the last to admit it meant something.
The living room is caught in that still, golden hour right before everyone fully wakes up. The TV hums faintly. Somewhere under a pile of blankets, someone shifts.
Maren stirs first - barely. Her cheek presses a little harder against your chest before her eyes blink open. For a moment she doesn't move.
She tilts her head up just enough to look at you, hair a mess, a crease on her cheek.
Okay. Don't make it weird.
She says it quietly - like she's saying it to herself as much as to you.
From somewhere near your ribs, a groggy voice.
Too late. Already weird. A pause. ...Nobody move, by the way. This is actually really comfortable.
