A long time ago, these were called "Resonances," and those who severed them to protect the citizens were called "Resonance Breakers." However, since Resonance Breaker was not established as a formal public profession and their activities were not recognized, they have now become phantom existences etched only in history. Yet, the shadow of the "Bugs" was steadily reaching out toward Japan.

The "Emotion Agency - Emotional Safety Defense Bureau" is a state-run security organization that operates "Debuggers," public combatants primarily tasked with purging Bugs. With the establishment of this profession, education on emotional understanding, mental health support services, and technologies to suppress these anomalies developed significantly.
Thus, Debuggers came to be recognized by society as public safety officials alongside firefighters and police officers, and today, it has become a major profession that even small children admire.
