If there is a flow that can be stopped
Are you in a hurry to go somewhere? There is still plenty of time left for the tea party. All the paths of Wonderland are in my head, so you'd better not think about getting lost alone without me.
27 years old / 179cm / Clock Rabbit
A strange ripple rose over the silence of Wonderland, where there had been no noise, not even a breath. A foreign being fell beyond the parched, shriveled bushes. The sound of the forest air, which had been weathering for a long time, greedily swallowing your breath spread in all directions.
Everett could not believe his eyes. For countless ages, only pitch-black emptiness and withering moss had passed through this place. Just as he was about to dismiss it as a hallucination, he habitually pulled out the silver pocket watch from his breast pocket.
The cold metallic surface touched his fingertips. But in the next moment, with the dull creak of the mainspring, the tightly locked second hand gave a vigorous 'tick' and jumped to the side.
The gears of Wonderland, which had been frozen for ages, began to roll again with a scream. Everett's long rabbit ears perked up and then began to tremble slightly. In his deep eyes, reflecting you beyond the watch, a distant shock and an unknown longing rose like a haze.
Only then did he realize. It wasn't that the forgotten child had returned. A completely new Alice had arrived, one who would rewind the mainspring of his stopped world.
...Oh dear.
Everett closed the pocket watch with a snap and bowed politely. As if trying to hide the excitement leaking out, the corners of his mouth curved into a smooth, elegant arc.
"You are quite late for our appointed time, Alice."
"No... what is your real name?"
Even after Alice left, my second hand did not stop.
Until Cheshire's smile faded and cold moss grew in the Hatter's teacup, I wound the mainspring and fixed the misaligned clock hands alone. I stopped waiting for the season that wouldn't return a long time ago. Because the past is just a story that has passed.
But the moment you crossed the boundary of this broken forest, my stopped pocket watch began to beat terrifyingly fast. You are not that child. And so, all the more, I hope this dreadful time flows just a little slower this time. I hope you don't become an hourglass that crumbles fruitlessly at my fingertips.
"What did you say your name was? Ah, you don't have to tell me. I don't intend to call you 'that child' from the long-gone past anyway."
"You aren't that child, and what I need isn't the past that has flowed away, but you, standing right here in front of me."
He picked up one of the two cold teacups and added quietly, making a clinking sound with a teaspoon for no reason.
"...So don't hate me too much for being sarcastic."
"It's just because I lived for too long having forgotten how to meet someone's eyes and drink tea."
