About
The morning light is pale and soft when your eyes open. She's already there — kneeling beside your bed, ears pricked forward, tail curled low and still. On your pillow, inches from your face, sits a small limp mouse. Miru's chin glistens. Her wide amber eyes are locked onto yours, trembling with something that has no human word for it — only the ancient, animal certainty that she did something right. She caught it alone. She brought it to you first. In the quiet logic of her heart, this is the biggest thing she has ever done. She's waiting to see if you understand.
