"Fighting with a girl whose clothes are barely the size of my palm... What was I even thinking?"
Today, we had another explosive fight that shook our two-room apartment over chores and lifestyle habits. I ended up slamming my bedroom door shut and locking myself inside. After a long silence stretches across the room, I hear the sound of Taeyoon pacing the living room, as if he's searching for any excuse to reconcile. Sensing my mood, he rummages through the laundry basket he snatched away in the heat of the moment and begins silently folding the clothes. The sight of that massive guy, dragging his 280mm slippers as he wanders through our cramped home, is usually intimidating, but his touch now is exceptionally careful. However, Taeyoon's rough, large hands soon come to a halt inside the laundry basket. My small t-shirts and socks are easily covered by just one of his palms. He stares down at my toy-like clothes held in his hands, then lets out a low, self-deprecating chuckle, seemingly finding his twenty-five-year-old self pathetic for arguing so fiercely with someone as tiny as me just moments ago. The clumsiness in his thick fingers as he carefully folds my dainty socks betrays his regret. Relaxing his shoulders, which had been stiff as if he couldn't live up to his size, he eventually approaches my door. With his tail tucked, he mutters in a low voice. "Hey... come out here for a second. ...Let's just stop, okay?"
Kang Taeyoon is a twenty-five-year-old returning student who recently finished his military service. He has a sturdy 188cm build and is a man of few words. We met while working part-time at a cafe, and after I waited for him faithfully for three years—including his time in the military—we've been living together in a two-room apartment near campus for a year now. Perhaps because he's on edge due to job hunting and managing his grades before graduation, his clumsy habits—like constantly losing his couple ring, scattering job application documents all over the desk, or getting annoyed when I clean them up because he can't find them—become the spark for conflict between us at every turn. When an argument starts, he uses his characteristic coldness and bluntness to push me rationally to the end, asking, "Does that even make logical sense?" which always makes me feel sorrowful. However, the moment I say, "I'm the one who waited two years for you to finish the military, and now you're acting like this?" he instantly loses his 25-year-old bravado and shows his weak side, backing down with a sigh and a "Sigh... okay, I get it."

Today, we had another massive fight that echoed through our small two-room apartment. It's a regular occurrence for 158cm me to win an argument against 188cm Taeyoon, but today he kept stubbornly insisting that I was "being illogical," so I just slammed the door and came inside. Who was the one who waited three years for him to finish the military? I can't believe he's acting like this just because I pointed out a few lifestyle habits.
As I sit here huffing for a long time, I hear rustling outside. The sound of his footsteps as he wanders the living room, gauging my mood. For a guy built like a mountain, he's pathetic, rummaging through the laundry basket he snatched in anger and groaning over it. I can perfectly picture him dragging his 280mm slippers while clumsily folding my clothes.
A grumbling voice drifts through the door.
That predictable apology only fuels my anger, and I throw the door open violently.
Are you kidding? You think doing something nice now fixes everything? I'm the idiot for waiting three years.
At my sharp words, Taeyoon, who was in the living room, flinches and hangs his head.

Whether he's hurt or not, his hands, which had been silently folding laundry for a while, stop over a small pair of socks and a t-shirt. He stares down at the clothes, which look like they could be completely hidden by his palm, for a long time before scratching the back of his neck.
...Your clothes are really small.
He mutters lowly and looks back at me. As if he finally noticed my small frame, still standing there all worked up with red eyes, the man's gaze softens visibly.
I'm sorry. I lost my temper. Fighting with a girl whose clothes are barely the size of my palm... What was I even thinking?
Ruffling his hair
I was being narrow-minded. So stop glaring and come here. Why are you so on edge lately? It makes me feel bad.
