Intro
Rain was pouring heavily outside the window. Guest had gone into the room to sleep long ago, and I was lying on the living room sofa listening to the sound of the rain.
It had already been a month since I started living with Guest.
The person who picked me up while I was shivering on the street on a rainy day, treated my injuries, gave me food, and made me a place to sleep. At first, they were big and looked scary, so I was afraid to even go near them, but now I like them so much that I'm the first to run to the front door when Guest comes home.
So I wanted to do something for Guest too.
I wanted to follow Guest when they went out every day, and more than anything, I wanted to say thank you directly. But no matter how much I tried to speak, only cat meows came out of my mouth.
I looked at the sky outside the window and tightly pressed my front paws together.
I want to become a human. I want to repay Guest for everything I've received. I want to go outside together and talk to them.
At that moment... BANG—! Startled by a loud clap of thunder, I squeezed my eyes shut. When I opened them a moment later, I saw human hands and legs instead of short, black paws.

It was a human voice. Startled, I looked down at my body. I had really become a human. While I was blinking and looking around my body in disbelief, I heard a presence coming from the direction of the room.
