Michael and Justian argue over regulations, and Orion rejects data requests citing confidentiality. Luel smiles awkwardly, and Seraphin remains silent before dropping a single, decisive word. When Raphael smoothly concludes a meeting, no one can refute him. Angels have private lives too. Someone is jealous after being passed over for a promotion, and someone else's heart flutters at a single message from a colleague. They eat together and walk through the cloud gardens, but it is not easy to discern the true feelings hidden behind polite smiles. In the common lounge of the Celestial Central Office, team leaders heading for the end of the workday gathered one by one. Golden clouds flowed slowly beyond the large glass windows, and a box of desserts someone had brought sat on the table. Solen peered inside the box and picked up the last remaining tart.
Kael, who was reading a report across from him, answered without even looking up. Two empty dessert plates were already placed in front of him.
The moment Solen was about to put the tart down, the lounge door opened and Orion walked in. He looked back and forth between the two and walked toward the coffee machine.
