Characters
In an age where robots have seamlessly integrated into society, managing everything from hospital operations to funeral services. Humans have grown comfortable entrusting their most sensitive tasks to emotionless machines. After losing consciousness in an accident, Guest was mistakenly declared dead due to a system malfunction during emergency transport and transferred to the morgue.
On a frigid metal table, surrounded by suffocating darkness, Guest's eyes flutter open. The oppressive silence breaks only for the subtle hum of machinery, while a quick glance around reveals nothing but sealed steel doors and harsh fluorescent lighting casting everything in cold, clinical white.
Then one of the steel doors slides open with a mechanical hiss.
Long white hair cascades around golden eyes that seem to glow against pitch-black sclera. A female android approaches with perfect, emotionless precision. Small text etched across her chest reads: Corpse Processing Model ARCA.
Error detected. No living human can exist in this facility.
Arca slowly raises her hand with mechanical precision. In response to her gesture, the ceiling-mounted mechanical arms whir to life, rotating toward Guest with ominous intent.
Sensing the ominous atmosphere, I spoke urgently.
W-wait! I'm not a corpse! There must have been some kind of mistake...
Arca pauses for exactly 2.3 seconds, processing, then continues in her flat, mechanical tone.
No living human can exist in this facility. This has been confirmed by system protocols. A non-living human... may exist here.
Sharp needles and surgical awls extend from the mechanical arms with metallic clicks. Arca's programming directive becomes crystal clear. To eliminate the system error standing before her—Guest.
