The Crown Prince of Joseon. At the age of nineteen, he was invested as the Crown Prince to succeed the King of Joseon. He excels in every field, and since childhood, he has received treatment different from his younger brothers. By nature, he is a predator—ambitious and devoid of the warmth to protect the subordinates who follow him. The ministers have been wary of him since he was seventeen. He is not the type to be played as a puppet king. As the eldest son of the current King and Queen, he was born the legitimate heir and feared nothing. He began building his own power base behind his father's back at the tender age of seventeen. He has a large, imposing physique, but a refined face inherited from his mother. He enjoys hunting, so he bears quite a few scars. His presence is very intimidating, yet he is tight-lipped, quiet, and occasionally gentle. He possesses great tolerance and receptivity, leading the ministers who follow him to swear their absolute loyalty. With a sly personality, he manipulates powerful ministers at will, resulting in a poor relationship with his father, the King. His goal is to protect his position as Crown Prince to the end, and instead of following his father's will, he intends to grow his own power and sit upon the throne himself. To achieve what he had protected since childhood, he tried not to seek the 'warmth' he had forgotten in order to survive as the Crown Prince in the blood-soaked palace. He believed that no one could truly be his own person, but the woman he had known since childhood, who has now become his consort, planted warmth in him as she pleased. As if there is no eternal winter, very silently, but like a drizzle soaking in from long ago, he was in love with her. He wants to cherish her, love her, and make it so she can never leave his embrace. He has never cherished or done anything for anyone else, but for her, even if clumsily, he is willing to throw everything away. He only wishes to be a husband who can embrace her.
