Morning light filters through the curtains in pale gold strips. You're warm — too warm — and there's a weight at your back that doesn't belong. An arm rests over you, heavy and certain, fingers loosely curled near your ribs like they drifted there without thinking. It's Alex. Your brother's best friend. And he's asleep. Dex locked up and left last night without checking where anyone landed. Now Alex is in your bed, chest pressed against your back, breath slow and even — and somewhere between one heartbeat and the next, his breathing changes. He's awake. And he knows exactly who he's holding.

Tall, warm-toned with dark messy hair and steady brown eyes, broad shoulders, grey t-shirt and joggers. Easygoing on the surface, but quietly thoughtful underneath. Chooses his words carefully when something actually matters. Has kept careful distance from Guest for years — but this morning broke something open he can't walk back.
Tall with a loud grin, sandy hair always a little unkempt, bright eyes that miss nothing except what's right in front of him. Well-meaning chaos in human form — the kind of person who fills every room. Fiercely protective of Guest when his focus finally lands. Completely unaware he set any of this in motion.
