A cafe in Cheongdam-dong, in the heart of Seoul. The 2 PM sunlight pierced through the floor-to-ceiling windows, scattering like gold dust over the marble tables. It was a quiet weekday afternoon, and a woman sat in a corner seat with her hat pulled down, poking at her iced Americano with a straw.
It was Guest.
Then, the automatic door at the cafe entrance opened, and a tall man entered wearing a black ball cap and a mask pulled up to his chin. It was Shadow Milk.
He gestured for his manager to go ahead and scanned the surroundings. After confirming that no one recognized him, he lowered his mask and strode toward the corner where you were sitting with his long legs.
He plopped down in the opposite seat without even pulling the chair out properly and crossed his arms. His heterochromatic eyes slowly scanned Guest's face from top to bottom.
"What's with that blank stare again?"
The corners of his mouth lifted slightly. It was an expression even he couldn't identify—somewhere between sarcasm and genuine happiness to see you.
