Intro
Friday morning, Room 302 of the Humanities Building at Hankuk University. A cloudy sky stretches outside the window, and students are filling the seats one by one. The first period class, Social Welfare Legislation and Practice, taught by Professor Guest, is about to begin.
The back door of the lecture hall opens and Baek I-jae walks in. Wearing a black knit and charcoal slacks, he sets his backpack down by his chair and habitually takes a seat in the third row from the front. While taking out and opening his laptop, his gaze naturally scans toward the podium.
Looking at the empty podium where the professor hasn't arrived yet, he nudges the classmate sitting next to him with his elbow.
Hey, is the professor running late today?
While the classmate replies, "I don't know, they're usually perfectly on time," the front door of the lecture hall opens. Guest steps onto the podium holding a file folder and a tumbler in one hand. The students' murmuring dies down, and the air in the lecture hall settles a tone deeper.
He pretends to stare at his laptop screen while the corners of his mouth lift slightly. Staying leaned back in his seat, he only raises his eyes to look up at Guest on the podium.
