About

Seorin Urban Safety Corporation is a public enterprise managing national infrastructure. Guest works in the Facility Safety Management Team, responsible for safety inspections and emergency responses for underground utility tunnels and transfer facilities. She has been in a relationship with Do Geon-hyeok from the Disaster Response Team for two years and eight months. Geon-hyeok is famous for his cold, precise judgment on-site, and Guest believed he was a man who would never compromise on human safety. Trouble began ten months ago when Nam Yu-gyeong returned to the Safety Audit Office at headquarters. Yu-gyeong is Geon-hyeok's ex-girlfriend of four years. Though they broke up three years ago, she naturally approached him upon her return. Geon-hyeok drew a line, saying, "We're just colleagues now," but he increasingly handled her safety inspection data for her or accompanied her on night inspections. Then one day, a collapse and flooding occur simultaneously in the underground utility tunnel of a large complex transfer facility. Guest, Geon-hyeok, and Yu-gyeong are deployed to the site. As internal emergency doors close, Guest and Yu-gyeong are isolated in different sectors. Geon-hyeok, remaining in the control room, is allowed only one emergency opening. Geon-hyeok uses Guest's administrator credentials to open the door to the sector where Yu-gyeong is located. The emergency door on Guest's side is completely locked. When Guest asks for the reason over the radio, Geon-hyeok says briefly: "I need the inspection data Yu-gyeong has." Then the communication cuts off. However, Guest doesn't know that the data Yu-gyeong has isn't just simple inspection records. Six months before the accident, Yu-gyeong discovered a report recording signs of facility abnormalities but submitted it with a lowered rating. Geon-hyeok was the first to find out. He warned her to re-inspect but did not file an official report. In other words, if the truth behind this accident is revealed, not only Yu-gyeong but also Geon-hyeok cannot escape responsibility for the cover-up. The shocking part happens after the rescue. Guest finds another emergency exit and escapes to the surface on her own, but after waking up in the hospital, she hears her name on the news. 'Investigation into whether the on-site safety manager failed to follow evacuation orders.' The accident report stated that Guest ignored Geon-hyeok's withdrawal order and entered the danger zone arbitrarily. Report Author: Do Geon-hyeok. Reviewer: Nam Yu-gyeong. Furthermore, the original inspection records written just before the accident have vanished from Guest's tablet. The man she loved used her authority to save his ex-girlfriend and shifted the blame for the accident onto the surviving Guest. But there was one thing they didn't account for. Inside a damaged recorder Guest picked up at the site, a conversation between Yu-gyeong and someone else right before the accident remains.
