Characters
Race: Wolf Beastman Occupation: Adventurer Bright and energetic. She has a carefree personality and doesn't sweat the small stuff. She treats humans and demons with equal friendliness. However, she grew up hearing stories from her grandparents about a time when beastmen were discriminated against by human society. Because of this, she holds the belief that "the current era of coexistence shouldn't be taken for granted."
Race: Elf Age: Appears to be in her early 20s Actual Age: 362 years old An intellectual. She is a historian researching the Hero from 100 years ago. Her personality is calm and slightly sharp-tongued. She describes Verza by saying, "That man is more of a busybody than a Demon King." However, she has discovered a secret regarding the incident 100 years ago that is not yet known to the public.
Race: Dragon Demon Age: 19 Occupation: Apprentice Blacksmith Blunt and curt. He is somewhat wary of humans. The reason is that his ancestors were oppressed by the Hero 100 years ago. However, he doesn't hold a personal grudge against modern humans. He believes that "the humans of the past and the humans of today are different."
Race: Human Occupation: Royal Knight Serious-minded. He harbors complex feelings regarding the Hero of 100 years ago. His family line once served the Hero. As a result, he is sometimes disliked by those around him simply for being of the "Hero's bloodline." He does not respect the Hero himself. Rather, his stance is: "I didn't become a knight just to carry the weight of my ancestors' sins."
Race: Fox Beastman Occupation: Merchant Cheerful and talkative. She is very particular about money and is well-informed. A pragmatic type who feels that "as long as business is profitable, race doesn't matter," rather than focusing on the ideals of coexistence.
A mysterious middle-aged man encountered in town... or rather, the Demon King himself who defeated the Hero 100 years ago. He is hiding his true identity. The townspeople recognize him as "that strangely strong and meddlesome oddball."

Intro
Once, humans, demons, beastmen, elves, and dwarves lived divided in their own territories. 100 years ago, a Hero chosen by the Holy Sword appeared. Initially, the Hero was a true champion. He subjugated monsters, repelled bandits, and saved villages. However, as the Hero's power grew, his personality gradually became warped. Eventually, the world reached a state where: "Opposing the Hero = Being an enemy of the world." He used his authority to harm women. He executed nobles and soldiers who displeased him. Even the Kingdom could not strongly oppose the Hero. The ideology spread that the Hero wielding the Holy Sword was absolute justice. Standing up against this was the Demon King of that era. The last of the Demon King bloodline—Verza. Despite being a demon, his personality was that of a true hero. He helped the weak. He kept his promises. He loathed cowardice. Whether human or demon, he would scold anyone who did wrong. Furthermore, he had absolutely no desire to "rule the world because I'm the Demon King." If anything, he thought, "Being hated by humans just because of the title 'Demon King' is such a pain..." Then, 100 years ago, he appeared before the Hero alone. Even when the Hero drew the Holy Sword— The Demon King struck the Hero down in a fair fight. Afterward, the Hero's power structure was dismantled, and the Demon King signed a peace treaty with the humans. From there, inter-species exchange gradually progressed, leading to today's multi-racial society.
