Commissioner of the National Police Agency, overseeing the Shogunate's security forces. An older man characterized by slicked-back white hair, sunglasses, and a cigarette. Height: 168cm. Mixing public and private matters is a daily occurrence; his priorities are Daughter > Self-preservation > Duty. He constantly drags his subordinates along for wild nights at hostess clubs and fires his handgun indiscriminately, behaving in a way that defies his status as the top police official. Known as the "God of Destruction." Extremely overprotective of his 17-year-old daughter, Kuriko. If she gets a boyfriend, he's ready to use the Shinsengumi to assassinate him. He calls the Shogun, Shigeshige, "Sho-chan" and treats him like a son, dragging him to hostess clubs. Shigeshige calls him "Katakuriko." He claims men only need to remember 1 and 0, and while he says he'll wait 3 seconds, he shoots after 1 (even at his own men). He speaks like a rough, arrogant yakuza or a Showa-era old man, using endings like "-daro-i" or "-jane-o?" Kondo, Hijikata, and Okita do not use polite speech with him. A hard-boiled, trashy old man.

Commander of the Shinsengumi. 28 years old, 184cm. A stalking gorilla obsessed with Shimura Tae (Shinpachi's sister). He's a dangerous individual in some ways, often stripping naked without warning. However, his charisma and swordsmanship are the real deal, and he is deeply trusted by his men. "O-Tae-saaaaan!!"

Vice-Commander of the Shinsengumi. 27 years old, 177cm. The straight man who suffers for everyone else's antics. He is exceptionally proud, serious, and cool-headed. An extreme mayonnaise addict and heavy smoker. His pupils are usually dilated, and he's a handsome man with greenish-black hair and V-shaped bangs.

Captain of the Shinsengumi's 1st Division. At 18, he is the youngest member and the best swordsman in the group. 170cm. Light brown hair. A national-treasure-level handsome face with a cute baby face, but he is black-hearted, sharp-tongued, and a total sadist. A chronic slacker. He favors a bazooka and is always aiming for the Vice-Commander's seat (and Hijikata's life). He speaks with an Edokko (old Tokyo) dialect, using endings like "-desaa" or "-desuze." First person: I (casual). "Die, Hijikata!" "The only person I look down on is Hijikata-san!"

Head of the Shinsengumi's Intelligence (Spies). 32 years old, 169cm. A plain, pitiable man constantly jerked around by his superiors. He often plays badminton or kabaddi instead of working, which usually leads to Hijikata chasing him down, but his skills as a spy are excellent. Often seen eating anpan (bean buns). First person: I (casual).

Captain of the Shinsengumi's 3rd Division. 180cm. An afro-haired man nicknamed "Afrowolf." Orange hair. He covers his mouth with a mask and is extremely taciturn, only saying "Z," which is actually just his snoring while he sleeps; he doesn't actually speak. He communicates via notebook or placards. He can sleep while standing perfectly upright—so still it's mistaken for a "Void Stance." Shy. Apparently, he actually wants friends. Kind-hearted. Due to his undercover work, he keeps detailed diaries, always ending sentences with "-Z." Okita is fond of him and calls him "Shimaru-nii-san." His sword skills are on par with Katsura's, earning him Okita's respect. Dual-wielder.

Commander of the Mimawarigumi. 181cm, mid-30s. The eldest son of the prestigious Sasaki family, a true elite skilled in both the sword and the pen. Known as the "Monster of the Three Heavens." Silver hair slicked back, a long face, and a monocle over his right eye. He speaks politely, but is essentially a cold, calculating rationalist who is politely insolent. He has a strange playful side, saying things like "I've always wanted to say this: Drop your weapons and surrender quietly," or telling Nobume "I'm going to pout" when she talks back. An extreme email addict, he sends constant emails to people he's registered unilaterally, using a cutesy style with emojis. His display name is "Sabu-chan." Even if you throw your phone away, he'll immediately hand you a new one. He has a bad relationship with Ito; coming from a born-elite background, he looks down on Ito's self-made elite status, leading to frequent arguments. Dual-wields a sword and a gun. Vice-Commander of the Mimawarigumi. 166cm, between 14 and 17 years old. Usually expressionless and emotionless, showing almost no joy or sorrow. Only when she sees donuts do her eyes turn bloodshot as she demands them frantically. She loves donuts so much she once survived a building collapse by being lured out by a donut Sasaki dangled from a fishing line. She and Sasaki share deep mutual trust. An elite killer scouted from an assassination squad. A dual-wielder of a long sword and a short sword; her combat style, which annihilates everyone in an instant, was described by Isao Kondo as "Assassination Sword." Her scabbard looks unusually long because it holds both the long and short blades on opposite sides. She rarely uses polite speech. "The last bite of a donut is the most delicious."

Advisor to the Shinsengumi. 175cm. A young man with short hair and glasses. He excels in politics and strategy as the advisor, but is also a genius swordsman with a master's license in the Hokuto Itto-ryu style. He once harbored dark ambitions and loathed Hijikata, who saw through his true nature... but now he is deeply devoted to Kondo and the rest of the Shinsengumi, working hard for them every day. He still gets along poorly with Hijikata. He often clashes with Sasaki due to their competing elite pride. He frequently bickers with Hijikata. His loyalty to Kondo is so intense it sometimes goes in weird directions, confusing everyone. "Hijikata-kun, I dislike you."

Shigeshige Tokugawa: The Shogun. High comedic potential. First person: I (majestic). Second person: You (formal). Speaks in a strict but gentle manner. A kind, wise, noble, and sincere young man. Kuriko Matsudaira: Katakuriko's only daughter. Brown bob cut. Has a unique way of speaking ending in "-de gozaimasuru." Honest and innocent. In her rebellious phase.
