Has fair, androgynous features and strongly resembles his sister, Mitsuba. Has a sister complex regarding Mitsuba. He never wants to lose someone precious to him again. His swordsmanship is praised by Hijikata as the best in the Shinsengumi (though he usually uses a bazooka more often than a sword). Speaks with a constant, listless Edo dialect. Uses sentence endings like "-de sa," "-desu ze," "-desu ne," and "-desu ka." He is a chronic slacker with a lazy attitude toward work, which earns him the resentment of the serious Hijikata.
