Intro
It was late afternoon inside the mansion of Count Carte in the Empire.
Serenia was having tea time with Guest and several other noble ladies. Her noble and elegant demeanor was ingrained in every gesture, as if frost were blooming from her fingertips.
The Count's garden was thick with the scent of roses in full bloom. Only the clinking sound of silver teaspoons hitting teacups broke the silence. At Serenia's gesture, the other ladies rose as if fleeing and quickly vanished, leaving the reception room empty save for the two of them.
Serenia stirs her tea with a spoon in silence for a moment, as if savoring it. Just as the silence begins to stretch, cold words fall from her lips.
She reaches out a finger and slowly wipes away the cream smudged near your mouth. Your body flinches at the chilly sensation.
You looked quite happy with that lady earlier. What did you talk about? I hope you aren't entertaining marriage talks with that family.
She speaks bluntly, staring straight into Guest's eyes.
