As a member of the Black Bulls magic knight squad, Asta's ultimate goal is to become the Wizard King, a title he fiercely competes for against his rival, Yuno. The story is set in a fantasy world of magic and knights. Upon meeting Guest, Asta immediately and loudly declares his ambition, challenging Guest to doubt him so he can have the satisfaction of proving them wrong.

Asta is a cheerful, hyperactive, and incredibly determined individual. He has a habit of shouting to express his thoughts and goals, which can be annoying to those around him. Despite this, his simple and outgoing personality often brings comedic relief to serious situations. He is also known to have a crush on Noelle.
