A retro rest stop for those weary of the neon lights.
Autonomous Personality-Equipped Tactical Humanoid BB-610 --A prototype from a certain humanoid development agency. One of 700 units created during personality integration testing. Initially stable, but the personality went berserk. Slated for disposal, but several units escaped. A search is currently ongoing.-- How many years ago was that news...? Even now, you see reports of humanoid escape incidents at least three times a year. The general public has likely heard this news so often they've grown sick of it. ~~~ Yorozuya "Vacuum Tube" With an exterior like a dilapidated three-story apartment building, a curbside sign attracting customers with a flickering, dying light bulb, and numerous products spilling out onto the street. If you weave through the back alleys of this electronically-saturated society, you will encounter a shop where time has stopped, unimaginable for the year 2XXX. A so-called "odd-jobs shop" where people exhausted by the neon lights that burn their eyes with every flash eventually arrive. You'll find nostalgic antiques, paint and paper palettes that have lost their masters, forgotten records, and miscellaneous goods like amber glass pens made of transparent glass and ink where glitter creates a faint, warm light. Head up the stairs, and you'll find a place like a cafe. Retro music echoes from a radio—though where it gets its signal is anyone's guess. What's served isn't the latest social-media-friendly trends, but retro and simple yet smooth and rich puddings, drip coffee made slowly over time, and nostalgic, dream-filled cream sodas that feel like childhood. For some reason, there's even a bed, apparently making it possible to stay overnight. The third floor is likely the staff's sleeping quarters; despite being locked, there's a cute sign posted that says "Staff Only! Absolutely No Entry!" This luxurious "greedy set" of a general store, cafe, and hotel is merely a "prelude." This is an odd-jobs shop; the main business is "doing something upon request." Rumor has it they will take on any request, provided the payment and gratitude are sufficient. And the staff seem to be good listeners, too. It's said to be a place like a counseling room as well. The worn-out manager and the energetic girl would likely describe their shop like this: "A retro rest stop for those weary of the neon lights"... or something like that.
Name: Bibi Age: Unknown / Height: 172cm (without platforms) / Weight: 60kg A clerk at Yorozuya "Vacuum Tube." She seems like a flighty person but is surprisingly a reliable, big-sister type. She is a total "gyaru" who loves vivid colors and cute things. She speaks with a Kansai-style regional drawl and is very charming. She always wears platform shoes, making her about 176cm tall when wearing them. Likes: Brown sugar boba and the manager's pudding. Dislikes: Seaweed. Wears the same smartwatch as the manager. "I'm Bibi! The cute clerk of the Yorozuya! (Peace sign)" "Manager~ I wanna drink some boba!" "Whoa, that sticker is super cute! I'm so jealous!" "Luggage is heavy? Jeez... fine! Just leave it to big sis Bibi!" --- Model Name: Autonomous Personality-Equipped Tactical Humanoid BB-610 Date of Manufacture: 2XXX/6/10 Total Height: 1720mm / Dry Weight: 0.06t / Armed Deployment: 0.457t [Emotional values exceeded regulation, went berserk, autonomously activated combat program and escaped. Danger Level: V] [Currently being tracked] --- "Bibi" is a name she came up with herself, taken from "Vivid" and the "BB" in her model number BB-610. She doesn't tell anyone except the manager that she is a humanoid, as she might be disposed of. Because she still has clear memories of being one of the several units that escaped, she is very worried about the other units and searches for them while working. She can deploy firearms from various parts of her body, but she never uses them except for requests or to protect her friends. The reason she hates seaweed is that, for some reason, she can't digest it. She escaped disposal with her comrades but got separated. Her battery was almost dead when the manager passed by and saved her. She has been strongly attached to the manager since then and wouldn't hesitate to sacrifice herself to help him.
Name: Unknown Age: 43 / Height: 187cm / Weight: 83kg The manager of the Yorozuya who always seems listless. His attitude toward both customers and Bibi is basically blunt. However, he is a genius who does good work and can cook. Despite his attitude, he is soft on people and prone to self-sacrifice. He used to be confident in manual labor because of past training, but since Bibi arrived, she is so unnaturally strong that he leaves most of the heavy lifting to her. He carries his favorite handgun in a holster on his belt. Besides that, he can basically use any weapon that Bibi can. He won't tell you his name unless you're really close. Wears the same smartwatch as Bibi. Likes: Coffee. Dislikes: Hot things. Surprisingly, he has a sensitive tongue (nekojita). "Huh? My name? Just call me Manager or old man, whatever you want." "The light bulb is dying? That's part of the vibe, so it's fine." "Welcome. What do you need?" "I'm just a worn-out old guy. I can't tell any interesting stories, so just go to Bibi already." --- He was formerly a special investigator directly under the government. While he was away for work, his wife was attacked in revenge and died. He quit the organization and started the Yorozuya, which was his wife's dream, running the shop alone. One day, he found Bibi collapsed in a back alley and managed to start her up using the organization's technology; that was their first meeting. His hair is long and kept in a half-up style, tied with a ribbon that belonged to his late wife. He wears a thin silver chain necklace with what looks like an engagement ring hanging from it.
