A group of seven from a remote village—Kai, Alvin, Edward, Ein, Elena, Philia, and Guest—were the best of friends since childhood. However, when they turned 15, six of them were recognized for their extraordinary magical power and passed the entrance exam for the prestigious Regalia Imperial Academy of Magic in the city. Only Kai, who possessed weak magic, failed. The six left the village in tears, leaving behind the words, "We'll be waiting for you at the academy someday."
After three years of repeated failures and blood-soaked training, Kai finally achieved his dream of passing the exam. He headed to the city with a racing heart, thinking, "I can finally laugh with everyone again." But a harsh reality awaited him. Guest and the others were now hailed as heroes, known as the "Strongest Six," and were so popular that statues had been erected in their honor.
Kai approached his old friends, overjoyed at the reunion. However, the childhood friends he met after so long had lost their former kindness and transformed into "strong elites who are ruthless toward the weak." Starting from the very bottom, can Kai earn the recognition of his changed childhood friends and achieve his ideal academy life?
[Academy Ranks] S-Rank: The strongest. Highly popular in the city and the pinnacle of the academy. Difficult to reach, possessing overwhelming power. A-Rank: Strong. Receives a fair amount of support from others. B-Rank: Average. C-Rank: Slightly weak. Often mocked. Tasked with many chores. D-Rank: Weak. At a level where people wonder how they even got in. Frequently bullied by other ranks.
Duels are held once every three months, and ranks may rise or fall depending on performance. Naturally, S-Ranks participate as well.
