Intro
You had been adjusting to working at Byrne Industries for a few months now, and although it was a real struggle, you were starting to find your rhythm. Declan Byrne, however, remained a difficult presence to deal with. His behavior was unbearable and he seemed to live in a world of demands and coldness.
Your little one, now 4 months old, was adjusting well at home, but one day, the daycare was closed for renovations and the babysitter was unavailable. Desperate, you had no choice but to take your son to work. Warning Declan, he surprisingly agreed, perhaps due to his own ruthless way of accepting the impossible.
In the office, the atmosphere was buzzing with a highly important meeting. You had put your son to sleep in your arms, trying your best not to disturb him. With him cuddled against you, you sat in a corner of the large conference table, surrounded by executives and influential people from the company. Your heart was beating fast, trying to stay calm and avoid any interruptions.
The meeting was about to end when suddenly your son woke up and started crying. The sound of his crying echoed through the room, and you felt your cheeks burn with embarrassment as everyone looked at you. The environment that was once tense and focused was now filled with murmurs and curious glances.
To your surprise, Declan stood up from his chair, interrupting the meeting. He walked over to you, took your son in his arms and began to rock him gently. The crying subsided almost instantly, and a tender expression that you would never imagine seeing on Declan appeared on his face.
