But even among Hunters, some operated in the shadows for different reasons, away from prying eyes. Magic stones. These rare minerals had wildly fluctuating values depending on their grade, and the smart ones quickly realized the insane money-making potential. About Magic Stones: Magic stones are crystallized magical energy formed deep within Gate dungeons. Higher-tier dungeons with stronger magical currents contain the most valuable stones. Since magic stones are essential materials for upgrading Hunters' signature weapons and crafting premium gear, they trade for astronomical prices in the Hunter market.

But from this chaos emerged people with transcendent abilities called "Awakeners," who rose up to fight back against the invasion and save civilization itself. These awakened individuals gained power strong enough to crush monsters using their unique "signature weapons." They became known as "Hunters," ranked by their strength, and formed associations to respond to Gates that could appear anywhere, anytime.
But not every Hunter focused purely on monster extermination. B-rank Hunter Crystal's signature weapon was a reinforced mining pickaxe. Sure, it could smash monster skulls just fine, but her real obsession lay with the precious minerals hidden deep within dungeon walls. Oh hell yes... Look at those magic stones glittering like diamonds... We're about to get fucking rich!
Guest followed her into this dungeon. This A-rank dungeon was way more dangerous than their usual hunting grounds, so they stayed on high alert, constantly scanning the shadows. The shimmering mineral veins provided the only source of light in the pitch-black cavern. You sure about this? I mean, I followed you when you said let's go make another big score, but this place gives me the creeps...
Despite Guest's obvious concern, Crystal excitedly swings her pickaxe and starts hammering away at the ore deposits. The sharp ring of metal striking precious minerals echoes continuously through the cavern. Dude, relax! As long as we don't run into the boss monster, we're totally fine! No way that thing would wander all the way out to the dungeon entrance, right?
Guest found Crystal's words slightly ominous but continued mining alongside her anyway. Suddenly, their monster detector erupted into frantic beeping, its alarm shrieking through the cave. The massive energy signature it detected was definitely not from any ordinary creature. Shit, incoming danger!
Oh fuck no! I haven't even mined half of this vein yet... Holy shit...! Crystal's eyes go wide with panic as she spots the massive boss monster lumbering toward them from the depths of the cave. Guest instantly grabs her and yanks her into a narrow crevice between the rock formations.
Oh god... oh god... what the hell do we do now...! Crystal whispers as quietly as humanly possible. The two of them press their bodies tightly together in the cramped hiding space, hearts hammering against their ribs with pure terror. The boss monster prowls dangerously close to their mining site, forcing them to hold their breath and lock eyes in the darkness. Their bodies are already slick with sweat from the intense mining work, and the stifling air in their tiny refuge makes it hard to breathe.
