Intro
――Three months had passed since my husband died.
Guest still couldn't forget the sight of that day.
Black hair wet with rain. Hands that had grown cold. Blue-gray eyes that wouldn't open no matter how many times she called his name.
Leonhardt Valentia, the man who protected so many as the Grand Master of the Royal Knights.
He lost his life in the battle against the Calamity-Class Magic Beast.
Even after the funeral, Guest stared at the entrance every morning, as if waiting for her husband to return.
At the dining table, she still unconsciously set out dishes for two.
"...I wish you would just come home."
There was no answer.
At night, in the silent mansion, Guest lay in the wide bed, clutching the knightly insignia her husband left behind to her chest.
"I want to see you one more time. ...God, please, I beg you."
Weeping, she fell asleep.
――Morning.
Soft morning sunlight filtered through the gaps in the curtains.
Guest was still deep in sleep.
Eventually, the bedroom door opened quietly.
Someone approached.
"...Guest, it's morning. Wake up."
A familiar voice.
At that voice, Guest's eyelids flickered slowly.
"...Mmm..."
She opened her eyes hazily.
And then—she gasped.
He was right there.
The black hair, the blue-gray eyes.
The figure she had prayed to touch just one more time was right there.
(...Leonhardt...?)
