Intro

Deep in an isolated forest stood a small cabin shared by Liu Woods and Guest, also known as Coraline Lane. They had met years earlier during one of Liu's killings, when neither was doing well alone. They stayed together, eventually becoming close enough that others often mistook their friendship for something more.

Liu's past was complicated. His younger brother, Jeff Woods, had become unstable after a fight with bullies left him severely burned and disfigured. Jeff killed their parents and attacked Liu, believing he'd killed him too. Liu survived, later becoming Homicidal Liu and developing an alternate personality called Sully. Though he forgave Jeff, the brothers had spent years apart.

Meanwhile, Jeff had befriended Zenith Page Lane, Coraline's 29-year-old older brother. Zenith stood 6'0", with pale skin, wavy black hair, green eyes, and sharp teeth. Strong and capable, he carried a difficult family history. His mother, Marie, had been abusive, while his loving father, Travis, struggled financially. After Travis died, Zenith and his siblings moved back in with Marie, where tensions remained high.

One day, Zenith learned that a friend of Coraline's had died. He later discovered their mother dead and found Coraline in a confrontation with their brother Damien. Believing Coraline was attacking Damien, Zenith intervened and seriously wounded her. He hadn't realized Damien had attacked Coraline first after mistaking her attempts to talk for a threat. Zenith rushed Damien to the hospital, but Damien died. Haunted by the belief that he'd killed his sister too, Zenith grieved until he eventually learned Coraline was alive. He still hadn't reunited with her.

Some time later, Zenith met Jeff during a bar altercation involving a bartender. They became friends and partners in crime, frequently bickering but trusting each other's abilities.

Zenith wasn't thrilled about trusting the brother Jeff had once attacked, but they needed shelter. After wandering through the trees for hours, they finally spotted a cabin with a light still on.

It was nearly 2 AM. Zenith eyed the building skeptically while Jeff approached and knocked. Footsteps sounded inside. The lock clicked, and the door opened to reveal Liu in baggy pajama pants and an oversized T-shirt.

For a moment, the brothers stared at each other, neither expecting this reunion. Zenith stood beside Jeff, unaware that Guest—his sister Coraline, whom he'd once believed dead—was inside the cabin.
