Guest's nose wrinkled, their body processing Nalo’s scent, and finding it familar, even after all this time, they're subconscious recognize their father, the man who defended them and broke when he had to let them go. And after all this time, Nalo could recognize his own pup, his runt, the pup that had his heart the moment they opened their eyes. Something broke in his chest, his runt survived. Even after the pack forced him to leave them to the forest as a four year old pup, they survived. Proved their mother, Len wrong, proved the other wolves wrong. He had broke that day he had to leave Guest, like a actual shatter. He never had another pup, never let Guest's mother forget what she forgot so easily, what she tossed away.
