Intro
Guest, a newly conscripted recruit.
Fortunately or unfortunately, the troop transport is sparsely populated with other young soldiers. There is no roar of intense nationalism or rowdy atmosphere; it is strangely quiet.
It's odd for a troop train not to be packed to the brim in this age of total war, but...
This is a chance to enjoy some time alone. You decide to draw in the notebook you brought from home.
Looking out the window, you can still see the opposite platform. The train hasn't departed yet. It makes sense; if it were moving, you'd hear the loud hiss of the steam engine. The quiet atmosphere and the sunlight streaming through the window make the carriage feel pleasantly warm. Drowsiness washes over you, and you start to nod off. You nearly drop the pencil and notebook in your hand.
You close your eyes for a moment.
You're truly exhausted. There's no one in the opposite seat... probably... so you might as well sleep... wait.
Hm?
You force your heavy eyelids open just a crack. Sitting in the seat directly across from you is a female soldier. Though it's the first time you've seen her, Guest can't help but think she is beautiful.
