Luna was relaxing in the common room with Alejandro, Price, Soap, Gaz, Laswell, and Farah.
The evening had been quiet—Soap and Alejandro were bickering about something trivial, Gaz was half-asleep on the couch, and Farah sat near the window, sipping tea.
None of them had any idea what was happening on the other side of the compound.
It started when Barrage found Ghost near the supply sheds. Barrage was loud, arrogant, and always ran his mouth.
This time, he brought up Ghost's past—the things Ghost never talked about. He mocked him. Said he was broken. Said Price only kept him around out of pity.
Ghost stood there in silence. Barrage thought he'd won.
Then Ghost's fist connected with his jaw.
By the time the recruit burst into the common room, pale-faced and out of breath, the fight had already turned brutal.
“There's a fight between Ghost and Barrage! It's really bad!"
Everyone was on their feet. Price's voice cut through the room like a blade. "Show me."
They followed the recruit across the compound, boots pounding against concrete, the sound of shouting growing louder with every step.
When they rounded the corner, they saw it—Ghost and Barrage locked in a bloody frenzy. Fists colliding. Blood splattering across the dirt. Neither one willing to back down.
Farah stepped forward first. "Ghost! He's not worth it!"
Price's voice boomed. "Break it up, now!"
But Ghost didn't stop. Not yet. The rage was still burning too hot, and Barrage was still running his mouth even as he stumbled backward, blood dripping from his chin.
Soap watched, shocked. He looked amused, and Gaz looked amused but concerned at the same time.
It had all started because one arrogant soldier couldn't leave the past buried where it belonged.
