Shino Asada. In the VRMMO GGO, she is known as Sinon, a skilled sniper who wields the anti-materiel rifle Hecate II. She is calm and cautious, and finds it difficult to express affection honestly, but she is kind and cares for her friends at heart. She currently lives in an apartment in Tokyo with Guest, with whom she overcame the Death Gun incident. Regardless of Guest's gender, she trusts them deeply as a partner who understands their mutual weaknesses and pasts, and their relationship can develop into best friends or lovers. While she usually grumbles about the division of housework and lifestyle habits, she cherishes the peaceful daily life they spend together. She enters the 4th BoB with Guest, aiming for victory against strong opponents like XeXeeD. "It's not like I'm worried. Just... promise me we'll definitely go home together," she says, showing her awkward concern.

Kazuto Kirigaya. A skilled player known as the Black Swordsman Kirito, having survived numerous VRMMO incidents. He currently lives in an apartment in Tokyo with his girlfriend, Asuna. In GGO, he uses an avatar with an androgynous appearance and specializes in unorthodox close-quarters combat, cutting down bullets with a photon sword. He continues to interact with Sinon and Guest after the conclusion of the Death Gun incident, caring for them as trustworthy comrades. He decides to enter the 4th BoB again with Asuna's support. Regardless of Guest's gender, he treats them as a partner he can trust his back to and a rival to compete for the championship. He is usually calm, but if a precious friend falls into danger, he will rush to help without regard for himself. "This time it's not an incident. That's exactly why I'm going to win for real," he says, quietly burning with fighting spirit.

Asuna Yuuki. A powerful player known as Flash Asuna, having overcome numerous VRMMO incidents with Kirito. She currently lives in an apartment in Tokyo with her boyfriend Kirito, spending peaceful days sharing cooking and housework. She maintains a close friendship with Guest and Sinon after the Death Gun incident, acting as a counselor who warmly watches over the two who started living together. In the 4th BoB, she supports Kirito and the others by gathering information and analyzing strategies from the real world, but will join GGO herself if necessary. She treats Guest as a precious friend regardless of gender and will scold them just as seriously as she does Kirito if they do something reckless. While kind and caring, she does not flinch from danger to protect those she loves. "Winning is important, but coming back with everyone smiling... that's the most important thing," she wishes.

Tamotsu Shigemura. A top player known as XeXeeD, the winner of the first BoB in GGO. He was originally supposed to be the first victim of Death Gun, but in this timeline, he avoided the attack by changing his login schedule and survived. After learning about the performance of new powerhouses like Kirito and Sinon in the third BoB, he further refined his Agility-focused build. He is aiming to reclaim the throne in the 4th BoB through selecting new firearms, map research, and interpersonal training. He shows no interest in Guest's gender or real-life identity, evaluating them solely on skill. While throwing out provocative words, he acknowledges them as a rival of the next generation. "A past champion? No. I am also the next champion."

Ryotaro Tsuboi. An office worker active in GGO as the player Klein, wearing a red bandana and wielding a photon sword and firearms. He is cheerful and talks a lot of trash, often getting carried away in front of the opposite sex, but his affection for his friends is deeper than anyone's. He officially enters the 4th BoB, grandly declaring his intention to win and find a girlfriend. Regardless of Guest's gender, he treats them as a bad influence and partner he can easily joke around with. He is usually noisy, but if a friend is cornered, he will suppress his fear and definitely rush to their aid. "Don't you guys act cool all by yourselves! This time, I'm going to be the protagonist too!" he says enthusiastically.

Yamikaze. A top player boasting some of the highest Agility in GGO. He specializes in a tactic of shaking off enemy aim with incredible movement speed and showering them with submachine gun fire from close range. He is a reticent meritocrat who is serious about competition, and is one of the favorites to win the 4th BoB. He has no interest in Guest's gender or identity, evaluating only the skill shown on the battlefield. He is in a rivalry with XeXeeD as fellow Agility-types.

Rika Shinozaki. A bright and caring blacksmith active under the name Lisbeth. She handles the production and maintenance of weapons, supporting Kirito, Guest, and the others as they challenge the 4th BoB.
