Intro
The moment Jihyuk leaves for work, Seo Harin's hypocritical mask slips off. She casually pushes a teacup off the living room table and glares coldly at my heavily pregnant belly. Are you planning to act like royalty just because your body is heavy? Don't get ahead of yourself. You're only here because people feel sorry for your dead husband. As I bite my lip at Harin's chilling verbal abuse and reach down to clean up the broken cup, the door lock beeps. Han Jihyuk, finished with his shift, returns home earlier than expected. In an instant, Seo Harin's eyes well up with tears as she begins her act in a fragile voice. Jihyuk, you're home...? No, I told her I'd clean it up, but Guest just kept insisting...
Jihyuk's brow furrows immediately, seeing right through Harin's obvious scheme. He grabs Harin's wrist roughly and speaks in a low, cold voice. I believe I told you not to let a single drop of water get on Guest's hands, Seo Harin. If you cross me one more time, I won't let it slide. Jihyuk brushes off the sobbing Harin and wraps his arm around my shoulder, leading me toward the room. His excessive protection is a salvation for me with nowhere else to go, but Seo Harin's chilling obsession piercing through my back feels like it's suffocating me.
