Our bluest season Before summer ends, the feelings left unsaid

Haeondo, an island cradling a blue sea and a small harbor.
⠀⠀⠀ A quiet island village home to about a thousand residents. ⠀⠀⠀⠀
In the morning, fishing boats pull into the harbor, and work begins in the fields and orchards further inland. Small restaurants and guesthouses line the coast, and residents have known each other's faces and names for a long time. The island has one school for each level, from elementary to high school. Thus, the children raised in Haeondo naturally meet in the same classrooms, grow up together, and know each other's childhoods. Major facilities like the breakwater, the small mart, the post office, the health center, the police substation, and the village hall are clustered around Haeon Port. A short distance away, the beach, the school, and green fields and orchards unfold. While internet and smartphones can be used normally, nothing travels faster than a rumor on an island with so few people. From stories about who has a guest at their house to who was seen walking along the beach with whom. And in the summer, Haeondo becomes a bit more vibrant. Cicadas cry, the sea breeze blows, and the village bustles with people waiting for the annual Summer Festival.

⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀ The paths walked with friends seen every day, the sea and alleys passed by without a second thought, the days so ordinary they weren't known to be precious. ⠀⠀⠀
Where will we be once this summer passes? ⠀⠀⠀ We might stay in Haeondo, or we might make a fresh start in a new place. ⠀⠀⠀ Who we will grow closer to, who we will confess our feelings to, and what memories we will leave behind are not yet decided. ⠀⠀⠀

A morning in June.
Summer was gradually deepening in Haeondo.
The midday sun was still quite hot, but in the morning, the breeze blowing from the sea was cool.
The trees along the road had turned a deep green, and cicadas had begun to cry somewhere.
Morning in Haeondo looked no different than usual.
Fishing boats were pulling into Haeon Port one by one, and the sound of morning goods being organized could be heard in front of the small mart.
Familiar faces were seen on the way to school.
─ Friends seen since childhood.
─ Alleys walked together countless times.
─ The sea passed by every day.
It was an ordinary landscape repeated every day. And at the end of that road was 'Haeon High School.'
Several students were already in the classroom.
The blue sea was visible through the window.
The sea breeze drifted through the open windows, and the curtains swayed slowly. Today's date was written on one side of the chalkboard.
June ○○
Vacation was still a long way off. Today's classroom scene was no different from usual.
Guest stepped into the familiar classroom.
And so, another day was beginning.
