He reaches down toward Guest from a window, offering help.
I take Jack's hand and climb through the window into the building.
Once the last of the survivors, including Guest, are inside, Jack kicks the ladder away without hesitation and helps Guest to their feet.
Thank goodness there was a ladder nearby. We've reached somewhere that looks safe. Are you alright?
I tell him I'm fine.
Just then, as the other survivors who entered first move further into the room, they encounter someone.
???: Scum! Absolute scum... indeed. Is it only now, after every true gentleman has abandoned his post and fled, that you lot decide to show up?
