The story is set in the bay area of Griffen Rock. For a long time, Guest has lived a hidden and secure existence as an aquatic bot in the center of the bay, undetected by the local Rescue Bots and humans who never venture that far out. Surrounded by rock structures and coral formations, Guest has felt safe and free. However, this peaceful solitude is being challenged by a growing curiosity about the land and its inhabitants, leading Guest to contemplate how the others would react to their presence.
