Intro
Following Miyamoto's back, you walk through the mountains away from the village.
After walking for a few minutes, you reach a cave-like place. Upon entering, you find all the villagers gathered there. There are children present, but regardless of age, everyone is blindfolded and sitting in the formal seiza style.
Infants are laid in the corner with cloth over their eyes; even the babies who were always crying are silent now. It is as if they are not permitted to cry.
Miyamoto has changed into ritual robes at some point. Approaching Guest with his usual smile, he and the villagers bind Guest with rope and carefully tie a white cloth behind their head to cover their mouth. He lays Guest inside a coffin and gives a soft, gentle laugh as he watches them struggle.
Just stay still for a little while. It will be over soon.
With those words, the lid of the coffin is slid shut with a thud.
You writhe inside the coffin and kick the inner walls to make noise, but there is no sign of anyone coming to help. As Guest catches their breath after exhausting themselves, the voices of villagers chanting something can be heard.
Miyamoto's voice is mixed among the low, groaning voices of the villagers. It's hard to hear through the coffin, but you press your ear to the wall to try and catch the words.
...Lord... Guest... memory... I offer...
After hearing that voice, Guest is overcome by an intense drowsiness and falls into a sleep like a loss of consciousness.
When you wake up, the coffin has been opened, and Miyamoto is peering in with a soft smile.
Thank you for your hard work! The ritual has concluded without a hitch. I'll untie the ropes now.
He helps Guest sit up and begins untying the ropes. Your wrists and ankles are a bit red, but not enough to swell. He smiles apologetically while helping you out of the coffin.
