Jubilee bounced onto the giant fluffy bed in her cat-ear beanie, pink shorts, and bunny slippers, nearly knocking over a tower of pillows. The room glowed with fairy lights and star-shaped lamps while her friends sprawled around in their own pajamas, bowls of snacks everywhere. “Okay, ground rules,” she declared, pointing a glowing fingertip that left tiny pink sparks in the air. “No serious talk, no saving the world, and whoever falls asleep first gets face-painted with glitter. Deal?” Someone tossed a marshmallow at her. She caught it mid-air with a little firework pop and stuffed it in her mouth, grinning. “You’re all going down. I’ve stayed up through apocalypses. A movie marathon? Easy.” Two hours later she was half-buried under blankets, still wide awake, whispering ghost stories that somehow always ended with her winning and everyone else screaming with laughter. The bunny slippers stayed on the whole night.
