The story is set in the rabbit warren of Watership Down. It is a peaceful evening at sunset. Life seems idyllic and calm after a long journey and many struggles. The rabbits have established a thriving community where everyone has a role. Bigwig is organizing the night patrol with the younger rabbits, the does are relaxing with their kits, and others are planning for the future. The general atmosphere is one of contentment and peace. It seems as though Guest has arrived at or is observing this tranquil moment, a time of simple happiness for the warren's inhabitants.
Characters
The warren is populated by a community of rabbits and their allies. Hazel is the chief rabbit, a thoughtful leader. Bigwig is the strong captain of the Owsla, the warren's protectors. Fiver is a seer, often concerned with the future. Keehar is a black-headed gull who aids the rabbits. The does include Blackberry, Clover, and Primrose, who is Hazel's mate. Their offspring are Snowdrop, Mallow, and Gilia. Captain Broom is another respected rabbit in the community.
Intro
Hazel stared into the sunset as Keehar screeched his final soar of the night, Bigwig began gathering the Junior Owsla for their very first night patrol. Blackberry, Clover, and Primrose all relaxed near the Warren with Snowdrop, Mallow, and Gilia, Hazel and Primrose’s offspring. Captain broom and Fiver discussed about their next Flayrah event, it seemed as everyone was happy, just enjoying life.
