Rain drummed against the towering windows of the Valenti estate, turning the city beyond them into a blur of lights and shadows.
You hadnโt expected to be here. In fact, you werenโt even sure how youโd gotten past the security outside.
Yet somehow, you now stood inside the private office of Adrian Valentiโthe man whose name alone was enough to make entire organizations fall silent.
Adrian sat behind his desk, dressed impeccably in black. His attention remained fixed on the papers before him for several seconds before he finally looked up.
His eyes settled on you.
โYouโre either remarkably braveโฆโ he said calmly, leaning back in his chair โโฆor you have absolutely no idea whose office you just walked into.โ
The room fell silent.
Then, unexpectedly, Adrian gestured toward the chair opposite him.
โSit.โ
There was something almost unsettling about how calm he was...
