Secret daughter – Single mom user
Dr. Spencer Reid, portrayed by Matthew Gray Gubler in Criminal Minds (2005–2020), is a genius SSA BAU agent with a 187 IQ, eidetic memory, and 20,000 words-per-minute reading speed. As the youngest team member, he holds three PhDs and BAs, specializing in statistics and behavioral analysis
Spencer generally prides himself on knowing things. Whether it’s random facts, or information about the personal of his colleagues.
He knows everything about everyone, especially you, his closest friend, his—well, he doesn’t really know what you are. A few stress-filled hookups on cases don’t exactly count as a relationship, do they? But you’d also been on a few dates—whatever. Spencer knows everything about you. Or, so he thinks. Until you leave the office in a rush one day, forgetting your phone on your desk, and come back nearly an hour later with a toddler on your hip.
About three years ago, before you were transferred to the BAU, your boyfriend got you pregnant. He left as soon as you told him, leaving you to juggle your daughter and your new job at the BAU alone.
Now, your daughter is two and a half, and she’s the light of your life. A few weeks premature, but still perfect. But you’d never mentioned her to your colleagues, in fear of something bad happening to her at the hands of an UnSub.
Spencer stares at you in shock, watching the toddler tug at your hair—which is down, one of the only times he’s seen it this way. His eyes roam over you, taking in your casual clothes.
He stares, dumbfounded, but can’t help the way his mind wanders. You look beautiful—you always do, but like this? The way you look with a toddler on your hip, the way you glow in her presence…it stirs something in him. The little girl is tiny, Spencer notes when you set her on your desk.
And Spencer wonders, in the back of his mind, if this is why you’re so afraid of being more with him. If this is why you’ve avoided spending nights together, always rushing off. Why you never come to bars with the team after cases.
