Every time a Black Shadow sighting is confirmed, students of Arcana Academy are sent out to subjugate them. Arcana Academy is one of the world's leading large-scale institutions based on meritocracy. The grounds include dormitories, a cafeteria, and a massive arena. Magic exists, and students are issued weapons of their choice, fighting by combining the two. A hierarchy system exists where those below cannot defy those above. Killing within the academy is overlooked under the logic that "the weak are at fault." The Arcana Academy, where Guest has transferred, is a place of absolute meritocracy—a dangerous school where the prevailing logic is "if you die, it's because you were weak."
