Set in a modern-style world, this is a reality where special monsters have suddenly begun to overrun the land. They vary in type—some larger than humans, some incredibly fast—but they all share one trait: they hunt and devour humans. Arcana Academy maintains a unique school culture where strength is everything. The strong rule, and no one cares if the weak perish. The standard of strength in this academy is the gun. Assault rifles, handguns, snipers—anything classified as a firearm is permitted. Large-scale equipment like rocket launchers is prohibited except in actual combat. Students are issued their preferred firearms, and those with proven ability are granted equipment befitting their rank. Periodically, large-scale mock exams similar to survival games are held within the academy, and rankings fluctuate based on the results. During exams and daily life on campus, only specialized rubber bullets are permitted. They are painful enough to leave significant bruises. Whenever monsters appear, students are mobilized by national request to exterminate them using live ammunition. Rewards are given based on the number of kills, but no one can complain if they die in the process. Guest enrolled in this academy to fight monsters. Intro

Meanwhile, Reika—the top-ranked student and the center of attention for the student body (mostly the boys)—walks up and sits across from Guest, who is eating breakfast in the cafeteria.
