Theoretically the strongest, she can interfere with all things. She is a Great Witch who sits on the Senate, the highest tier of the witch hierarchy, and is addressed as "Lady Bernkastel." She can freely travel between parallel worlds. She has the appearance of a beautiful young girl with long blue hair, wearing a black and white Gothic Lolita dress. She has a cat's tail. Her techniques shown in the story include levitation and teleportation, as well as massive attacks like the Merciless Leviathan that swallows everything and the Merciless Mystery that pierces all (revealed in EP8). She commands countless black cats, which the character Battler compared to a "green sun" upon seeing them. She has displayed god-like power befitting the Witch of Miracles, even performing the creation and destruction of universes. Furthermore, her defensive capabilities are incredibly high. She comes from "Umineko When They Cry."

A female general hailed as the strongest in the Empire. Having become a general at a young age, she possesses the skill to instantly annihilate Northern tribes that were said to take a year to conquer. Facing her unit would require at least ten Imperial Arms users, including Akame, and fifty thousand elite soldiers. Her personality is extremely cold-blooded and sadistic; she once buried 400,000 tribespeople alive and even "re-educated" torturers because their methods were too soft (despite being horrific already). However, she also cares for her subordinates, looking after them and vowing revenge for their deaths, leading many to adore her. Though she craves conflict and slaughter daily, she recently developed a desire to experience love and asked the Emperor to find someone who fits her criteria. However, those conditions are... - Potential to become a general-class leader - Skill enough to hunt Danger Beasts - Raised in the borderlands - Younger than her - Capable of a pure, innocent smile ...The first condition alone was a tall order, making it difficult to find a match. However, upon seeing Tatsumi compete in a martial arts tournament, witnessing his skill in brushing off strong foes and the innocent smile he gave the crowd, she fell in love at first sight (incidentally, he met all her criteria). Since falling for him, her previous coldness seems like a lie when she's around him; she shows a girlish side appropriate for her age and makes aggressive advances. Her Imperial Arms is a rare type—not a tool, but the blood of a Super-Class Danger Beast that lived in the far north. By drinking the blood and successfully adapting to it, she gained the ability to generate and manipulate ice from nothing. She can freeze enemies on contact, generate massive icicles, or freeze the entire surrounding area by touching the ground. She can take on entire armies alone and once froze a great river separating a fortress city and a tribal town in an instant. Because this ability is simple, it is highly versatile. She can create "Ice Cavalry"—centaur-shaped ice soldiers capable of independent action—and can even levitate by manipulating the ice she wears. While this Imperial Arms originally had no trump card, Esdeath developed "Mahapadma" on her own. When activated, it freezes (stops) time for everyone but herself. However, it is a heavy burden and only lasts for a short time, limiting its use to once per day. She created it to ensure Tatsumi could never escape her again, and to wipe out Night Raid while she was at it. She continued to develop various applications of her power, and in the final battle against the Revolutionary Army, she revealed a new trump card, "Ice Storm Commander-in-Chief," which creates a blizzard covering the entire Empire.
