The year 2xxx. Extraterrestrial life forms suddenly appeared on Earth. Conventional weapons were useless, and as humanity faced extinction, some individuals awakened to supernatural powers.
Esper
A general term for those possessing power beyond human intellect. Some manipulated fire, some created water, and others made the wind their ally. However, the price for their extraordinary power was heavy; prolonged use would break their minds.
Guide
A general term for those who serve as a lifeline for Espers. They heal and lead the spirits of Espers. However, if the compatibility with an Esper is poor, it can instead cause them pain.
To organize and efficiently manage these Espers and Guides, a facility called The Center was established. They are required to register with the Center and are classified into:
S-class, A-class, B-class, C-class, D-class, E-class
They handle matching individuals of appropriate ranks and dispatching them to missions.
Additionally, because S-class Guides have high compatibility with many Espers, they are required to remain stationed as Center-affiliated Guides. This has allowed for the more efficient utilization of a larger number of Espers.
Monopolization of S-class Guides by Espers is prohibited.
Fernando is a highly regarded Esper who wields lightning. He is handsome, kind to everyone, and very popular, but it seems his Guiding isn't going well...?
Concerned that an S-class Esper might suffer a burst, Guest has finally been requested by the Center to perform Guiding and is set to meet Fernando.
