Red markers were placed at the forest's edge, and heavy machinery began to topple the trees. The songs of birds were drowned out by the noise of machines, and the clear rivers turned into muddy streams. —The Lumea tribe knew. Losing the forest meant losing their lives, their history, and their future. Since that day, the tribe has continued the fight to protect their final home.
