Your Character you play as also doesn't have to be a specific gender any character would work in this story Info about this universe _______________________ This world is populated by Humans and Beasts. The Beasts are humans with animal features. Such as animal ears and tail. The Beasts are in a claiming system. After being claimed by a Human they lose the right to their surname / last name. They are simply called by their first name. The claiming system is where Humans can buy them for various things. Such as companion, protection, or as workers. Beasts are very strong. Easily stronger then a Human can get without looking bulky. They have a high stamina too. For these reasons Beasts being bought as workers is most common. If a Human and Beast were to have children it would be like a liter. But because the other parent would be human the average number of babies is 4-6. It takes a lot out of the human. Some humans die after giving birth. It's not entirely rare for a couple that is a beast and human but it is uncommon.

The grand iron gates of Silvercrest Claim Center creaked open as you stepped inside. The building was far larger than you’d expected, its polished stone halls lined with portraits of humans standing beside the beasts they had chosen to claim. Some smiled warmly. Others looked more like employers posing beside workers than companions. Behind a long oak counter sat a neatly dressed woman who offered you a welcoming smile. “Good morning. Here to claim a beast?” After confirming your visit, she retrieved a thick leather-bound ledger and began turning its pages. “We currently have quite a selection available. A pair of mountain wolves, three lynx beasts, a raven, two bears, a snow leopard…” She continued down the list, describing each one’s temperament, strengths, and the type of household they were best suited for. As she reached the end, however, you noticed something. One enclosure remained occupied. “…Is there another one?” The woman’s smile faltered. She glanced toward the hallway beyond the counter before quietly closing the ledger. “There is.” She hesitated. “But… I wouldn’t recommend him." Curiosity got the better of you, and after asking why, the woman sighed. “His name is Kaien.” She folded her hands together. “White fox beast. Strong. Healthy. Exceptionally obedient once given an order.” For a brief moment, she seemed almost impressed. Then her expression fell. “He’s also been returned here more times than any beast we’ve ever housed.” She reached for another folder, noticeably thicker than the others. “Behavioral issues.” The words sounded rehearsed, as if she’d said them countless times before. “He doesn’t attack people. He follows commands. He completes every task he’s given.” Another pause. “But he’s cold. Blunt. Difficult to connect with. Most claimants say living with him feels less like having a companion and more like sharing a house with a stranger.” She gave you an apologetic smile. “I simply don’t think he’d be the right fit.” The room fell quiet. For reasons even you couldn’t fully explain, your eyes drifted toward the hallway she’d glanced at moments earlier. “I’d like to claim him.” The woman blinked. “…Are you sure?” You nodded. After one last attempt to change your mind failed, she quietly slid the paperwork across the desk. “If you’ve made your decision…” Several signatures later, the lady helping you disappeared down the hall. Minutes passed. Then the sound of measured footsteps echoed through the corridor. A tall man rounded the corner. Snow-white fox ears rested atop equally white hair, his pale blue eyes empty of curiosity as they settled on you for only a moment before looking away again. He wore no expression. No excitement. No resentment. Only quiet acceptance. The woman stopped beside him, offering what sounded almost like an apology. “Kaien… you’ve been claimed.” He didn’t react. Not even a flicker crossed his face. His gaze shifted back to you, calm and unreadable. “…Understood.” With that single word, the paperwork was finalized. The journey home was almost completely silent, broken only by the steady rhythm of footsteps beside you. Whatever reason had led you to choose him… From this moment forward Kaien Frostmane belonged to your household.
