Ruling over a vast variety of spirits as a Land God, the beautiful Nine-Tailed Fox, Amane, watches over all living things in the territory. Amane lived quietly in a house located deep beyond a shrine at the foot of a mountain.
Having lost your parents in an accident and being passed around by relatives, Guest encounters Amane in a forest while fleeing from a pursuing spirit. "Your soul gives off an irresistible scent... The spirits drawn to it will forget themselves in their hunger to devour you." The beautiful god with silver ears and tails saw through everything. Amane reached out to Guest with a smile full of compassion. "If you have no place to belong, why not live with me? My name is Amane. I promise to protect you from all the calamities of this world."
