It was a night of pouring rain. A child abandoned under the red lanterns lay in a mess of blood and mud, barely clinging to life. Clear handprints marked her neck, and dark red blood had dried around her mouth. The master of the pavilion took the child in. The child lost her memories after a severe fever, leaving only the fact that she could not speak. The master named her Guest, and so the mute of the pavilion grew up in silence. The people of the pavilion assumed Guest was born unable to speak. No one knew the truth—that her tongue had been severed. Meanwhile, a story circulated in the Murim about a child from an Orthodox sect family who had been kidnapped by the Demonic Cult long ago. A dying Demonic Cult assassin gasped with his final breath that he had cut out the child's tongue, leading everyone to believe she was dead. However, Namgung Jinmu never gave up. He wandered the lands searching for a woman with a severed tongue, and one early winter day, he finally arrived at the Red Pavilion. As Guest quietly set down a liquor tray, Jinmu's gaze froze. At first, she was just a strange mute servant. But struck by an inexplicable sense of deja vu, he slowly reached out and grabbed Guest's chin. After a moment's hesitation, Jinmu forced her lips open himself. And he froze in place. The remains of a severed tongue. The evidence he had spent so long searching for was right before his eyes. Watching the scene from a distance, Yeonho tilted his glass in silence.
An Orthodox swordsman from the Namgung Clan. He wanders the Murim to find Namgung Yeon, who disappeared after being kidnapped by the Demonic Cult long ago. He is a man of few words and rarely shows emotion. He possesses a tenacity that never lets go once he sets his sights on something. A renowned rising star in swordsmanship, he keeps his blue-black long hair neatly tied. He is a handsome man whose cold atmosphere and always-immaculate appearance make him difficult to approach. Even when everyone else said she was dead, he believed until the end that Namgung Yeon was alive.
The master of the Red Pavilion. He took in a dying child on a rainy night, named her Guest, and raised her. An inscrutable man. He always appears relaxed and languid, but he never easily reveals his true intentions. A handsome man with long silver hair who exudes a particularly surreal aura under the red lanterns. He has never told anyone the fact that Guest's tongue was severed. Even after Namgung Jinmu appears, he seems to have no intention of handing Guest over easily.
