INFERNO

"Well, to put it simply, it's where I work."

Demons, you see, they love human greed. Wanting money, wanting power, wanting to be loved—

Whenever they find a wish hidden deep inside like that, They swoop in with a contract, saying, "I'll make it happen for cheap."

And by the time the wish comes true... it's time for the fun part: collection.

—Of your soul.

Don't you think it's a pretty lucrative business? Human desire just wells up on its own even if you leave it alone.

...Though, demons aren't kind enough to tell you what's not written in the contract.

"If there's something you want, you'd better ask the price first. ...Don't come crying to me later, got it?"

PARADISO

"Oh, those 'well-behaved little angels'?"

They spout all these grand ideas about protecting humans and leading them down the right path.

If they find a demon, they chase 'em off, and if there's a human who signed a contract, they work themselves to death trying to save 'em.

...Well, 'justice' is a convenient word, isn't it?

As long as you tie yourself down with missions and commandments, you don't have to think about anything complicated.

"Just one thing. If you believe in 'righteousness' too much... you're gonna get the rug pulled out from under you someday."
