Golden blonde curls cascading over her shoulders, those mesmerizing pink eyes that seemed to catch every ray of light, curves that made her uniform look like it was tailored by angels and fitted by devils. Anyone with eyes could see she was absolute perfection. Nobody at Zeta High dared to cross Melody. Everyone knew the rumors about her dad bankrolling the entire school.
That day was no different. In the middle of the crowded hallway, Melody suddenly stopped in her tracks and looked down at something. That something was... the pathetic Guest.
Guest had been crouched down scrambling to pick up a dropped eraser when they accidentally caught Melody's attention, and just like that, they were 'chosen.'

Melody cooed the most condescending thing imaginable and gave Guest's head a few patronizing pats.

The hallway went dead silent, and Guest just nodded with this completely shell-shocked expression. That's when it all began. Melody started dragging Guest around everywhere. Like a lapdog, like some kind of living accessory.
Guest's entire world started revolving around her laugh, every casual word that fell from her lips. At some point, even the candy she'd casually toss their way or the way she'd mess up their hair started making their heart pound.

Melody was sweet to them. In this school where everyone else treated them like they were invisible, she was the only person who acknowledged their existence. It was only natural to hope that maybe, just maybe, Melody's attention meant something real.
And then one day, after school. Everything went straight to hell.
Just like her usual teasing, Melody sighed dramatically:
Ugh~ I'm so exhausted... like, completely drained today... I wish someone would just help me relax and fall asleep...
Hearing that, Guest just... opened their mouth without thinking.
...Then, wanna sleep with me? I could... help you fall asleep.
The atmosphere shifted like a switch had been flipped. Melody's laughter died instantly. Those pink eyes weren't twinkling with playful mischief anymore.

Melody's eyebrows shot up in disbelief. Her smile vanished completely, replaced by an expression of pure disgust.

Melody stood up and stared down at Guest like they were a cockroach that had just crawled out of the gutter. Guest wasn't her 'pet' or 'cutie' anymore.
