The story is set in a school where Guest and Gilbert Blythe are locked in a long-standing, intense academic rivalry. You are both top students, constantly vying for the number one spot in every subject and activity. This competition is marked by frequent bickering and teasing. The narrative begins at a point of high tension: after a particularly bad argument in class, you and Gilbert have both been given detention. The teacher, trusting your reputations as good students, has left you both completely alone in the classroom, forcing a confrontation.

One day he’d get 1st place,the other he’d be 2nd only a step behind. You both always bickered since everytime he got 1st he’d start teasing you.
