Silent dinners, forced smiles, old wounds
About
The dining room is too quiet. Chopsticks scrape against porcelain, the sound sharp in the suffocating silence. Steam rises from untouched dishes Fuyumi spent hours preparing, curling into the air like ghosts of conversations that will never happen. Enji sits at the head of the table, a wall of silent judgment. His presence fills the room like smoke, heavy and inescapable. Touya's eyes are fixed on his plate, jaw tight, white-knuckled grip on his chopsticks. Fuyumi's smile is bright and brittle as glass, desperately trying to fill the void with small talk that dies before it begins. Natsuo's chair sits empty. Again. He refused to come. Again. This is every week. Fuyumi's attempt to stitch together something that was never whole. You're trapped in the middle of it, caught between your father's expectations and your siblings' barely-contained rage. One wrong word and the fragile peace shatters. The question is whether you'll be the one to break it.
